Bill Wheeler is a printmaker
producing hand-printed viscosity collagraphs,
usually editions in suites of from 2 to 10 related images. A native of
Southern California and a graduate of Otis Art Institute, his art reflects
the bright sunlight and colors of the Southwest. The Postmodernists, Wassily
Kandinsky and Paul Klee influence his work as well. His paintings
are large dimensional wall-reliefs, more like sculpture than paintings.
The largest is a grouping of 22 panels covering two 10' x 32' walls, commissioned
by AMOCO for their Learning Center in Illinois. Numerous other private
and corporate collections around the world also include his works.
