| Whether it is the brilliant "Abeyah"
(monochromatic red,) the sensual significance of the sepia tone "The Reflection"
or the "two-way" monochromatic of a dreaming and soaring angel, the images
of Genice Grace produce a profound emotional experience. The passion
that her work evokes is a phenomenon as audiences viewing her work have
been noted to be come emotionally overwhelmed in gallery exhibits.
At such an exhibit in San Francisco, the California State assembly and
Mayor Willie Brown Jr. honored Genice Grace by giving a proclamation that
April 23, 2001 would be Genice Grace Day in San Francisco.
As aptly stated by Greg Moors from the Fingerhut Gallery in Sausalito, " ...Grace's (artwork) is the point where sensuality connects and integrates with spirituality." Grace's painting "Maternal Earth" inspired CBS News and the committee of the Global Images Project for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Australia when she was one of the 24 artist selected to represent the United States. The "Purple Rose Award" is usually given to political figures and celebrity activists who have championed the fight against domestic violence and the sex trafficking of women and children. But at a Beverly Hills Luncheon in her honor, Grace was presented with the prestigious “Purple Rose” for her courage, talent and contribution to social change by the human rights organization Gabriella Network. Remarkably, all of this comes from a young single mother who had no formal training in art but who educated herself by studying art history in public libraries and book stores. March of 2002 marks only the third year of Genice Grace's endeavor into her art, but this rising star has accomplished more in her 3 years of painting than many artists achieve in their lifetime. |

| "Which is your favorite? Is
it the red one... maybe the green? Is it just me or does it feel
like she is alive?" This is the type of dialogue that has become
synonymous with those viewing the paintings of Genice Grace. Though
her innovative two and three-way oil paintings (paintings with two and
three different images in them depending on the position of the canvas)
and her florals have drawn accolades, it is the signature "Monochromatic
Women" with their brilliant colors, poignant themes and fluid motion that
have defined the distinctive style that is Genice Grace.
Genice's story can be found between each brush stroke. The emotion of a turbulent coming of age and the integrity of the spiritual awakening of this 26 year old artist gave way in March of 1999. She picked up her paintbrush for the first time in ten years and transformed herself through her art. A transition that gave resounding volume to a once muted voice. Now with that voice she has much to say about love, consciousness, beauty, pain and the resourcefulness of the human spirit.
