Genice's L.A. Angel at the
Beverly Center, 2001

2002 Angel of the Now
at Universal City Citywalk

(UNIVERSAL CITY, CA)  -  World-class artist, Genice Grace is a remarkable young painter who healed herself from the nightmare of domestic violence through art. On August 28, 2002, Genice's new 2002 angel statue was unveiled during a gala event at Cafe Tu Tu Tango at Universal Citywalk.

But this extraordinary angel is more that just another aesthetic work of art for it carries the important message of Grace's personal pledge against domestic violence. Overwhelming support for Grace's statue, a symbol of nonviolence, has poured in from celebrities, public figures and many others who have designed special signature tiles that will be inlaid on the angel's outspread wings for the celebrated unveiling.

The overwhelming beauty of Grace's work has touched the souls and lives of many. Most recently, screenwriter Kelly Reno was inspired by Ms. Grace and optioned the rights to write her life story as a feature film. Reno stated, "The story of Genice Grace is the portrait of a young woman shattered by domestic violence who somehow found the courage within her soul to confront the past and transform herself into a professional artist, humanitarian, and in some opinions -an angel. We have a great lesson to learn from Genice Grace and that lesson is about courage, compassion and the strength of the human spirit. She is truly a remarkable living artist.

Grace, a self -taught artist who picked up a paintbrush for the first time a few years ago has told the tale of her turbulent past and spiritual awakening through each and every brush stroke of her innovative two and three way oil paintings and awe inspiring angels that she has become famous for. Notably, audiences viewing her exhibits often experience an indescribable, spiritually uplifting phenomenon that is fast becoming the trademark of Genice Grace.

A single mother and former victim of domestic violence, Grace's once muted voice is now a strong one speaking out against domestic violence and championing numerous social betterment charities and campaigns. Genice Grace has accomplished more than many artists achieve in a lifetime. In 2002 the Mayor of San Francisco proclaimed April 23 Genice Grace Day. She is also the recipient of the Purple Rose Award through the human rights organization, The Gabrielle Network for her courage and contributions against the sex trafficking of women and children and in May, 2002 Ms. Grace was honored by the YWCA at the Annual Women of Heart and Excellence Conference.
